Why We Started ClearShift
We believe that work should open doors — not just pay the bills. We saw too many talented people stuck in endless job hunts, and too many businesses left short-staffed when they needed great people the most.
We've felt those frustrations ourselves. We've been the ones scrambling to cover a last-minute shift, and we've been the ones trying to fill urgent gaps when the pressure was on. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built ClearShift: a smarter, more human approach to hospitality staffing. A platform that understands what it's really like to work in this industry — and one that puts people first. Because when talented professionals find the right opportunities, the whole industry gets stronger.

Charné
Co-Founder & Industry Expert
Charné lives and breathes hospitality. From her start behind the bar to being crowned South Africa's Bartender of the Year, she's always believed in raising the standard of service. As co-founder of The HiBall Cocktail Bar, she knows firsthand how challenging it can be to find great staff — and how transformative it is when you do. Her front-of-house and management experience gives her deep insight into both sides of the staffing challenge.
Her superpower: Spotting talent and understanding what makes hospitality teams click.
Anthony
Co-Founder & Operations Specialist
Anthony has worked every angle of the service industry — managing teams, training professionals, and delivering unforgettable events. He knows what exceptional hospitality feels like from the inside, and understands how crucial the right people are to making it happen. As a natural people person with deep empathy, he's become a favourite among both establishments and professionals in the industry.
His expertise: Building systems that work and teams that deliver under pressure.

Co-Founder and Platform Architect
With 20+ years in software engineering and UX/Service Design, Alan has built platforms that bring people together and solve real problems. He's led design teams across complex industries from banking to telecoms, but his heart is in hospitality — where he's also worked behind the bar and understands the hustle. For Alan, it's not just about the technology — it's about how we make people feel, because that's what truly differentiates ClearShift.
His approach: Design-led solutions that make complex things simple, tested in real-world scenarios.
