ClearShift connects hospitality establishments with verified professionals — bartenders, waiters, chefs, and other skilled staff — for long-term, fixed-term, casual, event, and urgent cover placements.
Simply register your establishment, browse professional profiles, and send a request when you need staff. We handle the matching and coordination for you.
No. ClearShift is not a recruiter or labour broker. We connect establishments with verified hospitality professionals, and all engagements and payments happen directly between you and the professional. ClearShift facilitates the introduction and supports the process, but we do not employ the professionals.
Yes. Through our partnership with DNA-Business, we offer optional managed services that support establishments with brand visibility, Google Business, SEO, social media, photography, staff training, operational support, and AI-powered workflows. These services are optional and delivered by DNA-Business’s network of trusted specialists.
We offer five main types of placements to suit different needs:
1. Permanent or Long-Term Placement – 6+ months, permanent employment
2. Fixed-Term Contract – up to 6 months
3. Casual Staffing – regular or recurring shifts for ongoing establishments
4. Events – one-off or multi-day event staffing for private or public functions
5. Staff on Demand / Urgent Cover – last-minute staffing within 72 hours

→ Once verified, you can browse professional profiles directly on your phone or laptop.
You can:
→ Complete the online staff request form on our website on the HIRE STAFF page, or
→ Send us a WhatsApp message with your name, establishment name, the role, date, time, and location.
We will contact you if any additional information required and match your request to available professionals and confirm within 24 hours (or sooner for urgent cover).
ClearShift charges a placement fee for coordinating and introducing professionals:
• Long-Term Placement: 10% of total cost-to-company (CTC), capped at 6 months’ CTC
• Fixed-Term Contract: 10% of total contract value
• Casual Staffing: 10% of agreed wages over 3 months
• Events: Quoted individually based on scope and timing (payment required before event)
• Staff on Demand / Urgent Cover: R200 per shift + the Professional’s wage
All invoices are payable upon receipt. Late payment may pause service until settled.
Event bookings are quoted individually based on size, scope, timing, and staffing needs.
Once you approve the quote and payment is received, your team will be confirmed.
You’ll also receive access to view the proposed staff profiles via our website before the event.
Establishments pay professionals directly for their work, unless otherwise agreed.
For some events, ClearShift may handle payment as an intermediary.
• Standard cancellations: at least 72 hours’ notice
• Late cancellations: after staff have been assigned, fees may apply
• Events: cancellations within 72 hours of the event date are non-refundable
• Staff on Demand: cancellations within 24 hours of a shift incur full commission
Once introductions are made, the placement fee remains payable even if the engagement is cancelled.
If a professional cancels, we’ll do our best to find a suitable replacement right away — especially for urgent or event coverage.
Please contact us as soon as possible so we can respond quickly.
Yes. If you were happy with a professional, you can request them for future shifts, subject to their availability.
If a professional doesn’t meet expectations within the first 3 shifts of a longer placement, ClearShift will provide a replacement at no extra cost.
For short-term or event work, we’ll review the situation and assist where possible.
All professionals go through our verification process — interviews, reference checks, and experience review.
We also track feedback from every placement to maintain high standards.
After each engagement, you can share quick feedback via WhatsApp or email.
Your input helps us improve and ensures you get the right people next time.
→ Provide a safe, lawful, and compliant workplace
→ Give clear instructions and fair treatment
→ Make prompt payments to professionals
→ Inform us quickly about any changes or issues
Invoices are payable upon receipt.
If payment isn’t received within 7 days, services may be suspended until settled.
Repeated late payments may require upfront deposits.
If the duration, rate, or scope of an engagement changes after our introduction, the placement fee will be updated to reflect the new arrangement.
Minor issues should be resolved directly between you and the professional.
ClearShift can assist with coordination but isn’t responsible for workplace disputes.
We only use your information to facilitate placements and coordinate support.
Contact details are shared only with relevant professionals once your request is confirmed.
